Ahmad Soflaei

(Secretary of the Top Theses Section)

Phd in Art Study and the head of TV and Digital Content Production faculty of IRIB university. Soflaei has

been lecturer in numerous higher education institutes and universities including University of Applied Science

and Technology (UAST), Tarbiat Modares University, Art University of Tehran and Education department of Radio Televisyen Maalaysia (RTM). He has been a scientific committee member in a number of national conferences, chapter contributor to scintific books and quarterlies, and an author and literary translator to half dozens of books in the field of holographics, digital special effects and stereoscopic animation, notably translation of a book in three volumes titled in Persian as “ comprehensive Book of Green Curtain”. Soflaei has been involved in tens of animation projects as director, scriptwriter, special effects designer and project consultant.

  


Najmedin Amir-Shahkarami

Born 1960. PhD in animation at UWL, London. scientific committee member of Tarbiat Modares University and lecturer in post graduate animation courses. Researcher, author and academic evaluation committee member at numerous scientific and academic journals. He has been involved in the production of feature animation films, TV series and web series. Shahkarami has been R&D supervisor and producer of a 60-episodes animation series commissioned by Organization for Development, Renovation and Equipping schools of Iran (DRES). He has been senior consultant and scientific evaluator in half dozens of scientific and professional institutes and acted as juror in a number of national film festivals including Tehran International Short Film Festival and Tehran Video Game Festival.

 


Ramtin Shahbazi

Born 1978. PhD student in philosophy of art. Vice Dean of College of Art and head of Film Department at Sooreh University. Managing board member of scientific council of Dramatic Arts and official member of critics and theory committee at art research centre of Iran Academy of Art. He has authored numerous scientific essays in the field of interdisciplinary study of art and has been keynote speaker in a number of national and international conferences including National Semiology Congress, Iran International Symposium of Traditional and ritual theatre. Shahbazi has been juror in national and international festivals like Tehran International Short Film Festival, Fajr International Theatre Festival and Roshd International Film Festival. He acted as a juror in Best Book and Best Research of the Year in the film category. Shahbazi has written and published a number of books including Essay on Sociology of Film, History of Iranian Film and Theatre (1922-: 1952): A Cultural Semiology, Digital Cinema and Its Ten Basic Problemtics (Kino-Agora Book Series)


Vahidollah Mousavi

PhD in Art Study. Author, literary transator and researcher in the field of Film and TV theory. Assistant professor at facuty of digital arts, IRIB University. He has written two books of “ Genre: Its Aesthetics and Functions” (co-authored with Mohammad Shahba, under publication) and “Genre in Iranian Cinema: An Study on ‘National Cinema’”(under publication). He has authored half dozens of scientific papers and essays including “ Gerneric-National Cinema as a model: Its Competence and Challenges” (coauthored with Ranji, Journal of Audio-Visua Media, 2021), “Poetical Experimental Film: A Meta-Critics on Three Film Theories” (Book Chapter, ‘Narrative in Short Films’, IYCS, 2020), “Aesthetics and Functions of Hybridization in Reality TV Shows” (Journal of Interdiciplinary Study of Communication and Media, 2019), “Genre and Style in Iranian Arthouse Cinema” (case study: ‘Brick and Mirror’, ‘Siavash in Takht-Jamshid’, ‘Still Life’, ‘Requiem’/Journal of Music and Dramatic Arts, 2018). As a literary translator, Mousavi has edited and translated a number of books like “American Film Critics”, “Palestinian Cinema: Landscape, Trauma and Memory”, “Postmodern Hollywood”, “Experimental Film”, “Post-Pop Cinema”. He has been a juror in Best Research of Year in the field of cinema and Tehran Symposium on Short Film Studies.
